“Discipline” is the “backbone” of an “Institution”..
[अनुशासन ही एक संस्था की रीढ़ होती है..]
Discipline is a noble and essential virtue of human life.A life without discipline is like a boat without paddle Where there is no discipline, there is cutter confusion, anarchy or chaos. Discipline is not only the backbone of an institution but also it is the backbone of a nation.A development of a human personality, advancement of civilization and culture cannot be thought of in the absense of discipline. Discipline is a training of mind & character.There are certain rules & principles that bind us to other persons a great philosopher Mr. Aristotle defines it…. “Discipline is an obedience to rule formed by the society for the good of all.”
Obedience, co-operation, avoidance of greed and selfishness, respect for others, sense of service, duty and responsibility are some of the major features of discipline.
These qualities can easily cultivated in a child at a tender age. Wise parents inculcate these qualities in their children from the very beginning. If a child is not trained in discipline he becomes a problem for the family, later at school/college and after that in the society and the community.
Discipline is needed every-walk of life…But its needed more in the educational institutions as the students of today are the citizen of tomorrow. They will shoulder the responsibilities of the country in future.If they are indisciplined and rude, the country will suffer.
And indisciplined student carries with him the infection of terrible disease and spreads it among those who came in to his contract. Moreover, in the absence of discipline, good teaching cannot be imparted or ever thought of.
Thus we see that now a days indiscipline is growing alarmingly in educational institutions. Students go on strikes on a slight cause. they violate the rules & regulations of the institutions and take out processions shouting slogans against their chief proctor & the principal.
Hence it is the duty of all teachers, head of the institution, guardians, managing committees & the department concerned to check this wide spread evil among today’s students.. Otherwise there will be no happiness, peace, progress and prosperity in the country.
